A Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) fired from a unmanned aircraft system hit a moving truck target at Dugway Proving Ground, a first. Col. James Romero reports the missile flew at a range of slightly over 8 kilometers and a “nominal altitude.” The JAGM is designed to hit both stationary and moving targets, and should reach initial operational fielding in 2018, according to Romero.

General Herbert “Hawk” Carlisle told reporters F-35’s from Hill Air Force Base could be deployed to Syria and Iraq in the near future, when the fighter jet is declared ready for combat.

“The minute I declare initial operational capability, if the combatant commander called me up and said, ‘We need F-35s,’ I would send them,” Carlisle says in an article published by Air Force Times.
